Anton Liopo has a PhD in biology (emphasis on animal and human physiology).  He has research experience in areas of biochemistry, neurobiology and physiology of alcohol addictions and analysis of morphology and structure changes of neuronal membranes by atomic force microscopy. For the last ten years, Anton was focused on investigation of functionalized nanoparticles, which included single-walled carbon nanotubes, polymeric nanoparticles, gold nanorods and their use for biomedical applications. In TomoWave Lab. Anton’s responsibilities are research and developing novel methodsof conjugations between bioactive molecules and high light absorption nanoparticles from different materials, shapes and constructions for cancer therapy, molecular and optoacoustic imaging and sensing.
