Bios

Dr. Ermilov is a scientist with over 10 years of expertise in Biomedical Optics and 7 years of expertise in Biomedical Optoacoustics. At TomoWave Laboratories he is involved in the majority of R&D projects related to Biomedical Optoacoustics with emphasis on the system development, theory of optoacoustics, tomographic reconstruction, computer modeling, and imaging.

Dr. Ermilov received his Master of Biomedical Engineering Degree in 1998 from Bauman Moscow State Technical University (Russia), followed by two years of post-graduate research in the field of Biomedical Optics with emphasis on laser-tissue interactions. In 2006 he was awarded a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Rice University where he was doing research on biological application of optical tweezers.

His solid knowledge and experimental skills in optoacoustics, general physics, optics, biomedical engineering, and computer modeling benefited TomoWave Laboratories since its establishment in 2010. Scientific interests of Dr. Ermilov include biomedical optoacoustics and optical imaging.
